Let's Be Frank

Morgan Crutcher is a Culinary Arts student at Bowling Green Technical College and as her Culinary Arts Practicum this semester she has started her own business on campus aptly named "Let's Be Frank." With the help of the Culinary instructors and the schools facility management team, Morgan has secured a state-of-the-art hot dog cart that she parks in the courtyard of the main campus to sell.. What else, hot dogs.

“I have been working on this project since the beginning on the semester with my first day being open on Sept. 23,” State Morgan. “During this semester I have been learning what it takes to run my own small business while providing a service to the campus community.”

The hot dog vending has been a big hit on campus. Every day students, faculty, and staff crowded around her cart to purchase dogs with all the trimmings.

“This experience has opened my eyes to see how much it actually takes to develop a business plan, then ultimately a business,” says Morgan. “I have had to create many different documents and forms, such as purchase order sheets, menus & inventory template, to help keep this venture afloat. Since this is my last semester as a Culinary Student I want to walk away with a degree (of course) and the sense that I can be an Entrepreneur in my given field.”
