Transfer Checklist

  1. Check List2.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average.
  2. Most institutions require a minimum 2.0 GPA. Many academic programs have additional GPA requirements. You will be required to send a SKYCTC transcript that verifies your coursework and GPA.
  3. Meet with a transfer advisor/contact at SKYCTC to make sure you are taking courses appropriate for transfer.
  4. Talk with your transfer advisor to ask about transfer agreements. Many of our four-year colleges and universities have transfer agreements within a chosen major. Be sure to ask if there are agreements within your major.
  5. Complete an admissions application to your chosen 4 year college or university.
    Students applying for admission are required to complete an application. The Student Success Center has applications for most Kentucky public and private institutions. We assist students with completing these applications. We can also review scholarship essays.
  6. Research Financial options at your transfer school. Contact the financial aid office to see if your current aid will transfer. You may reach SKYCTC Financial Aid at 270-901-1059.
  7. Submit applications for admissions. This will include admissions applications to the school, program admissions, Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or housing applications. In addition, be aware that many colleges and universities require a fee for admissions processing (usually less than $50).
